New York’s Public Library is known to house some of the greatest works of literature. Now they are taking it a step further. A train has been installed in its Rose Main Reading Room, which will reopen on the 5th of October. The section has been closed for repairs and restoration for the last two years and to spice things up, it will now boast a train roller coaster.
The library’s Stephen A. Schwarzman Building will soon have a state-of-the-art conveyor system, which will transport requested research materials from storage to the rest of the library. They have named the ‘conveyer system’ the book roller coaster.
The system comprises of 24 red cars, the cars can automatically transition from horizontal to vertical just like a rollercoaster. This new initiative will make rare and valuable cultural products more available to the public.
