Flying cars might become a reality in 2017

That is if Airbus Group’s urban air mobility division has their way. The company is developing three solutions to urban congestion, namely single passenger vehicles, package delivery drones and autonomous buses, all sky bound.

Tom Enders, CEO of Airbus disclosed the company’s latest project in Munich, the hope is to demonstrate a single person flying car by the end of 2017. If the company succeeds, it will eliminate the need for roads and bridges, saving billions in the process.

Vahana will be a single passenger flying car that will be self-piloted with the help of artificial intelligence technologies and the hope is that travel will be revolutionized in the next 10 years. The company is currently in the testing phase, but it has to be going well for them to make such bold statements.

Airbus wants to be the first in sky travel, eliminating congestion.
