Apple Park with its spaceship-like shape is the technology manufacturer’s 175-acre headquarters in Cupertino. The company will start moving more than 12 000 employees in April and anticipates that it will take more than six months.
The park is one of a kind with a circular curved glass structure measuring 2.8 million square feet. Visitation to the visitor center will be open to the public, there ordinary citizens will be able to shop at the Apple Store or relax at café.
Apple has boasted that their new headquarters is one of the most energy-efficient buildings in existents with a campus completely off the grid powered by renewable energy. The park is also equipped with a 1 000 seat theater that was built on top of a hill and features a 20 foot tall glass cylinder and carbon fiber roof. The theater will be named the Steve Jobs Theater, in memory of the company’s former CEO and co-founder.
Employees will have the luxury of using a 100 000 square-foot fitness center or enjoy a relaxing stroll in one of the more than two mile walking paths with a meadow, orchard and a pond.
