Apple’s iPhone 8 is expected to arrive late in 2017, but that hasn’t stopped the rumors. There is no shortage of speculations on the web about the much anticipated iPhone X which is expected to be showcased at Apple’s anniversary celebration later this year.
Rumors suggest that Apple will replace the Lightning port for a USB Type-C, which is the standard for laptops, smartphones and chargers. The phone will have a 5.8 inches curved OLED screen with a resolution of 2,800 x 1,242 pixels. Apple will do away with the Touch ID sensor and home button and replace it with ‘virtual buttons’ which will be located at the bottom of the screen.
It is speculated that the FaceTime camera, earpiece and Touch ID fingerprint sensor will be embedded into the screen. According to reports the front camera will feature a revolutionary infrared sensor which will be able to sense the three-dimensional space in front of it, much like a Kinect sensor.
The iPhone X will most likely get the new A11 chip, as Apple upgrades the processor with every new smartphone. The new iPhone is said to have two models, one with 64GB of internal storage and a more expensive model with 256GB of internal storage.
Another great feature that we have all been waiting for is wireless charging, which is rumored to be one of the biggest selling points for the iPhone 8. The phone will be sold with a separate accessory that will be contact-based to allow charging, with the USB Type-C cable as an additional purchase.
It is expected that Apple will increase the phones battery life with a 2,700mAH L-shaped two-cell battery pack. You would have to start saving right away if you’d like to own one of these new smartphones as they are rumored to cost upwards of $1,000 thanks to more premium components and a huge redesign.
