Facebook has launched the beta version of Facebook Spaces, an app that allows users to connect with family and friends in an interactive virtual reality environment. You can download the app for Oculus Rift and Touch in the Oculus Store.
The new Facebook app is an alternative way to get together with people if the distance between them makes it hard to hang out in person. Each user has an avatar that is based on the user’s photo. You will have the ability to change your avatars hairstyle, eye color and facial features to reflect your personality.
Users can connect with friends through Messenger and interact in a 360 degree spaces. Unfortunately Facebook Spaces is not for everyone yet as it is very expensive to get into the tethered virtual reality space that is required to use Facebook Spaces, but we are sure that Facebook is working on a way to make this more accessible to everyday users.
