There is little as frustrating as having to carry a heavy cooler long distances on bright sunny days. The only thing that makes it worthwhile is the cold beers and meat, ready for the braai. What if you didn’t have to lug your cooler everywhere you went?
California-based hacker-engineers Aaron and Davis of Hacker House was thinking just that when they constructed a robotic cooler. The innovative cooler was designed to follow its owner automatically like a shadow that is controlled by Blynk, an Android IoT app.
Not only will the cooler follow your every move in GPS mode, but you will also be able to send your cooler to specific coordinates. The cooler has a feature that allows it to open and close at the tap of a button and although it won’t be able to navigate rough terrain, it will definitely make for some interesting conversations on outings.
The creator plans to open source all the materials, code and instructions to allow you to build your own. They believe that everyone should be able to access the latest technology without it costing an arm and a leg.
