We are all familiar with Amazon’s range of smart speakers, and it was just a matter of time before apple jumped on the band wagon with their new Siri-enabled speaker which should be unveiled as soon as next week.
Apple has been working on their new line of speakers for some time and sources close to the matter have mentioned that it could be shown off at Apples Worldwide Developers Conference which starts next week. Unfortunately Apple fans would have to wait to get their hands on the smart speaker as Apple will only start shipping the product later this year.
Sources have announced that the speaker is going through rigorous testing to perfect its design and unlike the Echo Show, the Apple Siri-enabled speaker will not include a display, but Apple has promised more advanced acoustics technology and virtual surround sound. The company hopes that these features will set the product apart from the rest.
The speaker will act as a hub that will be compatible with Apple’s HomeKit platform, this means that users will be able to control home appliances with voice commands. Siri will be able to answer questions asked and play music from your Apple Music library. More features should be available soon thanks to Apple opening Siri to third-party developers.
