WhatsApp has been at the forefront when it comes to rolling out new features for their users and they are not stopping any time soon. For many years, users have been able to send videos and photos to contacts, but WhatsApp aims to expand this feature by allowing users to send any kind of file.
The feature is currently being tested in beta by a small number of users and should rollout to all users in the near future. As long as the file you would like to share is smaller than 100MB on iOS and 128MB on Android, the sky’s the limit. You will be able to share any file in a group or with a contact as long as it is under the prescribed size.
Users will be able to pirate files as APK files are allowed, but the downside is that people will be able to spread malicious files that could infect or damage files, so WhatsApp will have to find a way past this before rolling the changes out to their 1.2 billion users.
